Music genres return!

Music now in categories at Frankston

Due to popular demand, the music CDs at Frankston Library are now arranged by category. The CDs will will be arranged by author (band name, composer or act) within each of the larger categories.

Here's your new categories:

• Popular -  POP in white (or a white dot)
  A broad church of contemporary music from pop to dark ambient.
• Heavy metal - HEA in black
  Hey you in the black t-shirt! Metallica, Iron Maiden, Slipknot etc.
• Classical - CLA in red
  Old classics like Mozart to contemporary neo-classical like Sophie Hutchings.
• Country and folk - COU in green
  Music with a twang or whatever sound folk singers make. 
• World - WOR in orange
  Indigenous music from Africa, Asia, Ireland, Iceland, Cuba and so on.
• Jazz and blues - JAZ in blue
  If it's jazzy or bluesy, then you can dig it here.
• Relaxation - REL in purple
  Soothing chillout music for quiet moments.
• Nostalgia - NOS in mauve
  Popular favourites from yesteryear like Dame Vera, Frank Sinatra and Glenn Miller.
• Soundtracks - SOU in yellow
  Songs, themes and scores from movies and musicals.
