Access all areas

Search across databases

You can now access all the library's resources from one place. The E-Library page features a search box which enables you to find text (from books, newspapers and magazines), video and image resources from the catalogue and our online databases, plus Google Books and YouTube.

To expand our limit your search to specific databases, use the Choose Databases link near the Search button on the results screen. You can also limit results by year or publication. Once you have a search you like, you can even create a permanent link to return to it later.

This resource is great for anyone doing research for work, study or personal interest.

Seasonal polls

This season's Blogalogue poll asks:
.
If the Library offered free downloadable books,
which would you use?
.
We're looking at this possibility and a more comprehensive survey will follow in the future.
.
In winter's poll, which asked what was is the best thing about Frankston in winter, the Blogalogue's own AFL footy tipping competition was voted tops.
.
You can find the poll on the blog's side bar.

Customer feedback mid-2010

A bit of this and a bit of that

Although we receive a fair bit of praise from our customers, we also give people the opportunity to suggest how we could do better. With this in mind, it is our pleasure to present to you our customer feedback for Frankston from July and Carrum Downs from August.

Another Aussie bookshow

Shelf life
.
In the tradition of The Book Show and the First Tuesday Book Club, we now have Shelf Life. Produced by the University of Western Sydney, this weekly TV program takes a look at books from both the author's and reader's points of view.
.
The bad thing about Shelf Life is that it's only broadcast on TVS, the Sydney version of C31. The good thing is that it's on 4 times a week and is available through live streaming via the TVS website. So, if you've got the bandwidth, it might be worth checking out.

Alternatively, phone or see us in person about adding this feature to your membership.
